You want help, and trying to find it can be so frustrating that you're about to give up. I get it, and I've been there. Your time is valuable and I want to help you quickly determine if I may be the right fit for you. I tend to have the most success in helping Clients that resonate with some of the following:
They recognize that their methods are not working and ready to try new strategies.
They appreciate my straightforward and collaborative approach.
They are open to exploring uncomfortable thoughts and feelings.
They do not expect me to "fix" them, instead they are willing to take steps towards change.
If these align with you, we may work well together!
Research suggests that having a "good therapeutic relationship" is the strongest predictor of treatment success (you can read more here). If this is true, then choosing a Therapist that is a good fit could be the most important decision you can make when it comes to overcoming your roadblocks and getting to where you need to go.
As a Therapist, I strive to be the kind that I would want to work with.
I keep it real and honest.
I give respect to everyone.
I listen to understand.
I encourage without pressuring.
I can hold you accountable without shaming.
I can acknowledge my mistakes.

I believe therapy is most effective when both Client and Therapist are equally working together. My goal is to support each of my clients in the way that they need me to. Sometimes this means teaching tools and techniques, sometimes this means exploring painful memories, but almost always we are having honest conversations that respect your experiences and identifying the steps that you can take moving forward.
It's hard to connect authentically with a blank slate.
In a lot of ways, I am a regular dude. Here is a little about me:

I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years. In my experiences, I have helped countless individuals and families in a variety of different roles. My education consists of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I hold an active License (#133282) to practice Therapy as authorized by California's Board of Behavioral Sciences.
In my work with Clients, I do not exclusively use one theoretical orientation to guide treatment. Instead, I draw from several different modalities and philosophies that work well with one another such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Existential Therapy, and Person-Centered approaches. I almost always use a lens of Trauma-Informed Care and I emphasize the science-based research that highlights the relationship between one's mental health and their physical bodies.
